ANOTHER Dr. Tammi Update :)

Okay-- so we took Hailey in and she is fine. Of course when we were getting ready to leave we took her temp again and it was starting to go down, was 99 something. Got to the docs office and of course, it was normal 98.6!! Isn't that how it works? Runs the fever at our house the last 36 hours and when we take her to the doc, it's normal. :) Anyway, Dr. Tammi was glad she had us come in, just so we could double check her ears and make sure she is good going into the weekend. She is! Ears still look great, nose is runny and throat is a little red but that is expected with a "cold". It is viral and hopefully she'll be better by the end of the weekend. She seems okay now, Daddy took her temp again when we got home and it was 98.9 and 99, so it went up slightly from when the docs office took it but that's okay. We'll keep an eye on it all weekend.

She talked to me about Caitlin's test results... she said a UTI can happen for many reason, the most common is because she is in a diaper, and when she poops it can reach her private area... makes sense. She said it's very common with little girls (boys not so much). She said that when we come in next Friday she'll do another culture and when it comes back NEGATIVE, she'll do another test... I don't know what it is called so I will just explain what she is going to do. Because Caitlin is so young, they'll do another catheter like deal and fill her bladder with water and watch her under x-ray to make sure she pees okay... which is to make sure her kidneys are working properly. They'll also do a sono of her kidneys. We asked why she would do all that if it comes back negative and she said since she is so young, it's better to be safe then sorry later. If it was Hailey (being 2 yrs old) she'd wait and see if she got another UTI before doing all these test but since Caitlin is only 4 months, it is better to catch a kidney problem earlier then later. Make sense? LOL, I hope so!! It did to us after she explained it all.

We also weighed Caitlin, since we were there. I didn't expect her to have gained anything since Wed but she did.... She is now 10lbs !!! I am sooooooo happy! That means she gained 10oz this week alone! I guess the cereal is really helping!!! Can't wait to see what she weighs next Friday! :)
